Jeremy Steding Biography
Austin, TX
Vintage Inspired Texas Music.
Jeremy Steding’s fourth studio album, My Own American Dream, travels the highways, honky tonks and pubs of the world. Immediately, you’re hooked into the rhythmic romance of “Stay.” You’ll want to. Steding’s songs, vocals and band are better than ever. Enhanced by the tasteful production of Chris Gill and super-musicianship of Lloyd Maines and Tim Crouch, this album is a fun journey to take!
Jeremy Steding was raised, in a musical family, on the jingle jangle of The Byrds, the stories of John Prine and the rhythms of Buddy Holly. These influences blend pleasantly in the catchy tale of reconciliation, “Love Love Love.” Compared to Jim Croce, Steding also has a knack for painting bittersweet pictures, as displayed on “Arkansas Rain” and “Walker County Fair.”
Jeremy was turned on to independent Texas/Red Dirt Music while attending the University of Florida. Long a fan of Willie and Waylon, he was now also a fan of Cory Morrow and Robert Earl Keen. “The Story,” nostalgically pays homage to Keen’s “Feeling Good Again.”
An Austin local since ‘07, Steding is now an international touring artist and a staple in the TXRD scene. He draws inspiration from contemporaries such as: The Turnpike Troubadours and national acts such as The Zac Brown Band. The dance halls are a second home. The autobiographical title track, invites you in for some two-stepping. When you’re almost danced- out the Irish-inspired “Four Hour Gig” will bring you back up!
My Own American Dream is Jeremy Steding’s best work yet. Six years of pavement, pens, paper, triumphs and heartaches are paying dividends. The debut single, “Lyin’,” was his first top 20 hit on the Texas Charts, and certainly not the last. Look for Jeremy and his band, The Rebellion, to start seeing more and more dreams come true!
