Uforia Biography

What began as a solo project for Michael Ursini (Singer/Songwriter/Guitar) has morphed into Uforia, a talented four-piece hard rock band that has released three EPs since 2012. Based in Toronto and influenced by Billy Talent, Incubus, Muse, and Royal Blood, among others, the group also consists of Daniel Salij (Bass), Dylan Piercey (Drums) and Angel Gomez (Lead Guitar).

Uforia’s new single is, once again, produced by Finger Eleven’s Steve Molella. Uforia and Molella have been making music together for over three years now. Their chemistry is producing some of rock’s most well-crafted and polished recordings. “Crawl” is a song about perseverance. The struggle of fighting through all of life’s obstacles can take a toll on the human body and mind. “Crawl” reminds people to have faith in themselves during the dark times.

“This was the easiest lyric to write” says Ursini (composer/lyricist). “It’s pretty much how I feel everyday trying to get ahead in the music industry.” The collaboration between Ursini and Molella (co-writer/producer) is at its best with Uforia’s newest batch of songs. Yes, there are more songs coming soon!

Uforia’s previous releases include the debut EP Imagining (2012), the fan-funded follow-up Transmutation (2015) and their 2016 EP Fight or Flight. The band has won a number of contests including the Hard Rock Rising Canada contest (2013), the opportunity to share the stage with hometown heroes Billy Talent (2014), the Jack Daniel’s Supporting Act contest (funding their 2016 radio campaign with RPM), the Mississauga Music award for “Best Rock Artist” (2017) & Song of the Year (2018). “Fight or Flight” (single) is played regularly at Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays games, at Scotia Bank Arena during the Toronto Raptors & Toronto Maple Leafs games and at the Canadian Tire Centre during the Ottawa Senators games. It has also made its way into the NFL being played at New Era Field on the Buffalo Bills pre-game playlist.
