...the feeling of his music is what first struck me; the ambience and emotion, amid acoustic-guitar driven arrangements speak to me musically, in the same way the legendary singer-songwriters from the sixties do. - Tunedloud MagazineI

highly recommend checking out Follow from Doug Hawco, it's a superb album from an East Coast Artist for fans of folk, roots, pop and everything in between. - Jenna Melanson Canadian Beats MagazineThis

is a highly enjoyable album which should make it into any folk collection. This contains many would be singles that could be sent to adult contemporary, middle of the road radio formats. - Dillon Collins The Newfoundland Herald

BIO

Doug Hawco was born in St. John's, Newfoundland but is now based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

In February 2017 Doug released his 1st full length solo album called "Life on the Water", which has earned him a nomination at the 2018 Nova Scotia Music Awards for "Folk Recording of the Year" as well as a nomination with the 2017 Josie Music Awards for “Artist of the Year” in the Folk/Bluegrass/Americana category.

Doug released his 2nd album "Follow" on August 1st 2018 with singles from the album already hitting local charts before going public. "Beach Time", a single from the album, was featured in an award winning short film entitled "Prescription".

This singer/songwriter writes on emotion instead of genre mainly due to his overwhelming personal history. Growing up as the youngest of a large family gave Doug many different versions of life. He moved away at a young age to pursue a musical career and had many brushes with life changing experiences along the way. This musician has turned negative experiences into positive influences through his broad and unique songwriting style with stories that will make you want to smile, dance or cry. Doug is currently an advocate for the Canadian Brain Tumour Foundation where he had donated the proceeds of his 2017 Atlantic Canadian tour to the foundation.

Performing for over 20 years, Doug's experience brings out a high level of professionalism and brings the crowd into an intimate setting. A stadium of 5000 or a cafe of 20 will be clapping and singing along with his performance.
