Barefoot Wonder Biography

T Bruce Bowers and Ric Gillman are quite a pair. With almost a century of musical experience between them, they bring a wide variety of flavors to the table. From Doc Watson guitar picking, to blazing Led Zeppelin electric violin, it's a banquet every night. Always interesting, and sometimes down right unpredictable, each performance is an adventure.

T Bruce started out playing guitar in the '60's, and moved to violin in the early '70's. Along the way he mixed his love for electric guitar and the electric violin, creating his own custom effects systems, and even working a couple of years for the synthesizer manufacturer Sequential Circuits as a design engineer. He has appeared on stages and at festivals across North America, including Winnepeg Folk Festival with Queen Ida, Kerrville Folk Festival with Ronny Cox, Jimmy LaFave, Jack Williams, and Michael McNevin, and as a member of the Blue Canvas Orchestra at Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua for 27 years, where he performed with and opened for such greats as Johny Cash, Taj Mahal, Mason Williams, and Emmy Lou Harris.

Ric is a world class finger style guitarist who has been performing since the early '70's. From intricate melodic interpretations to heart pounding rhythms on the 12 string, he brings a great energy and story to his performance. He has written music and theme songs for PRX, Discover Wisconsin, Internet Broadcast Service and has brought arrangements to recording sessions with regional and national performers. He has appeared with Bobby Vee, the Vees, Spider John Koerner, Chris Smithers, Tommy Emmanuel, Pat Donahue and John Hammond III as well others, and is a founding member of the CharterKats, featuring members of the the Vee family, and crew of the best musicians in the Mid West.
