Blaks Marshall Biography

Melodic hooks, punchy tongue n cheek raps, fused over Dancehall, Afrobeats & Trap production.

Genre self defined as TRAPICAL but would sit perfectly under Spotify’s “Afro Bashment” playlist.

Jamaican born and South London raised Rapper, Autotune Vocalist and Songwriter, releases debut single ‘WINTA’ from 2019 scheduled EP “TRAPICAL”. The sounds of ‘Winta’ welcomes your ears with a crispy sing along chorus, bold lyrics and seasonal relevancy. Whilst visually the steamy motion picture was shot in an undisclosed luxury modern barn cottage, capturing warm wooden decors, a stunning fireplace with an exotic model for eye candy.

Highlights in Blaks’ early career include, a publishing deal with IMG, ‘OBE’ Ellis Rich, an impromptu performance alongside Emeli Sandé, and a sold out headline show at the O2 Indigo Academy with former group JFXMUSIC.

Taking a 3 year break from industry in 2014, Blaks returned, entering 2017 with a flurry of 1 minute YouTube freestyles titled FREESTYLEFRIDAY. Experimenting with styles, Blaks shared skeletons in his closet, through the riddles in “Hear Me Talk” to the last conversation he wishes he had with an ex girlfriend In “Tiara”

Influenced by his Caribbean background, Blaks draws rhythms and melodies found in Danchall, Afrobeats and RnB music, while his basey South London accent vocally distinguishes himself from his peers. Known for catchy hooks and cheeky wordplay, the combination of the two entertains you as Blaks Marshall.
