Madison Pruitt Biography

When you hear Madison Pruitt, be ready to feel. Madison Pruitt is a singer song writer from Cleveland who turns the familiar struggles of heartbreak, anxiety, depression and insecurity into a place of growing, learning, and happiness with a groove to keep you moving. Taking inspiration from Nahko and Medicine for the People, Paramore, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise, it's safe to say her music styles are all over the place and very unique.

She has been writing and performing her own music since the age of thirteen. Shortly after Madison began to release her gift, people started to receive her gift.  After what seemed to be no time at all, she caught the attention of many bands that she looked up to (Satsang, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Trevor Hall, Matisyahu, Twiddle, etc.). While developing a friendship with many of these artists, Madison was also joining them on stage to sing. What started out as a small dream was quickly kindled into a burning passion for music and the road.

Madison was on the road playing solo shows for five years before releasing her debut album "Purple" in November of 2018. All eight songs were written by Madison and they are the perfect example of turning around the worst of situations into the greatest opportunities. This album was given its name after her single, Purple (ft. Ryan Dempsey of Twiddle). Madison grew up with a very family-oriented lifestyle which has impacted her and her music tremendously. This album portrays her dependance on her family perfectly with a track called "Bel". This track features Madison's younger sister, Isobel Pruitt, singing a verse she wrote on her very own. The release of "Purple" is the first major milestone of Madison's lifelong commitment to music.

Almost every song on "Purple" featured a full band and high energy. Madison wanted to bring the same energy to her live shows. She had no problem finding loyal and dedicated band members. Madison Pruitt's band features the musical stylings of her life partner Andrew Petersen (bass guitar) and her uncle, Marcus Pruitt (drums). The three of them share the same love and drive for music. Before forming the band they each individually knew that writing, creating, and performing music was something that needed to be a part of their lives. Being accompanied by a full band brought a new level of versatility and excitement to Madison's live performances and song writing.

As Madison progresses as a musician she says there isn't much she doesn't want to accomplish, but it's going to take a lot to achieve those accomplishments.

"I want to be true to myself. Whether it's onstage, speaking directly to your face, over the internet, or through your headphones. I just want to be Madison 100% of the time. I want to make myself so vulnerable and transparent that you feel just as comfortable to be yourself as I am. I want my music to feel so real that you can relate. But most importantly, I always want my music to make ME feel. The second I'm done feeling this fire for my music, I'm out. I never want to fake my love for anything, including my own music."
