ITA I Symbolyc nascono nell’estate 2003, da un gruppo di amici uniti da una passione comune verso il metal, in particolar modo verso il Thrash Metal. Questa passione ha fatto sì che quello che inizialmente sembrava un progetto come un altro, nato col puro intento di divertirsi, diventasse col tempo qualcosa di più concreto. Ed è infatti sin dagli esordi che si nota la voglia e l’impegno dediti al progetto, impegno e costanza che sfociano nell’uscita del primo promo/cd della band, totalmente autoprodotto, dal titolo “Souls in the dark” in cui il sound è chiaramente debitore a gruppi quali Slayer, Kreator, Testament, i quali influenzeranno molto lo stile compositivo di questo periodo. Al contempo con l’uscita del promo, la band inizia a farsi conoscere nell’underground napoletano con svariate serate nei luoghi culto del metal partenopeo. Le premesse ed i riscontri da parte del pubblico sono più che buoni, ed è così che dopo due anni dall’uscita del primo promo/cd la band sforna un secondo demo intitolato “Wingless”, mentre continua perseverante l’attività live, da sempre considerata come uno dei punti forti del gruppo, ed infatti i Symbolyc condividono lo stage con molte band death metal, fra le quali ricordiamo gli Avulsed, Vader (XV Agglutination Metal Festival 2009), Dismember, Emeth, Hour of Penance, Cripple Bastards, Fleshgod Apocalypse e moltissime altre promettenti realtà dell’underground italiano….Le sonorità di quest’ultima release rimarcano in maniera ancora più esplicita, quello che è il background musicale di ogni componente, avvicinandosi a sonorità molto più “swedish” ed a gruppi come Carcass, In Flames: quindi una mistura di melodia e potenza che sarà il carattere predominante delle future produzioni. L’anno successivo sarà l’anno decisivo…E’ così che la band si dedica in tutto e per tutto alla stesura dei brani che andranno a comporre il primo full-lenght, intitolato “Engraved Flesh”. Con l’ingresso di un nuovo frontman, Diego Laino, il sound muta ulteriormente, la potenza della band si fa sentire ancora di più e le influenze si spostano verso il freddo est ed a gruppi quali Behemoth, Vader, che diventano il nuovo punto di riferimento della band…Un sound potente, distruttivo, dall’impatto immediato unito ad un tocco personale, distintivo con forti incastri melodici saranno il punto forte e caratterizzante della produzione e del disco…Ed è proprio questo a cui mirano i Symbolyc con la loro musica…Devastare e distruggere!!! Successivamente, per tutto il 2012 i Symbolyc si vedono impegnati in un’intensa attività live, inoltre comincia in studio la composizione di quelli che saranno i nuovi pezzi della band, dal sound ancora più aggressivo ispirato agli Hate, Septic Flesh. Nel 2011 Alex Mormile esce inaspettatamente dalla band per dedicarsi ad un altro progetto e i Symbolyc si ritrovano senza chitarrista solista. Per circa un anno spetta a Domenico d’Alisa sostituire Alex, nel 2011 la band è impegnata in live con band di una certa importanza, condividendo il palco i Belphegor, gli Amenta e i Deicide, giusto per citarne alcuni. Nel 2012 i Symbolyc suonano, tra l’altro, anche al Total Metal Festival con bands del calibro di Testament, Dark Funeral e Sadist, entro la fine dell’anno Domenico d’Alisa lascia la band e viene sostituito, dopo varie sessioni di prova, con l’attuale chitarrista Andrea Sacerdoti, che si è subito integrato nel gruppo, sia a livello musicale che umano. Il 2013 vedrà impegnata la band nella registrazione di un promo che verrà seguito entro la fine dell’anno dal prossimo full-length che si chiamerà Apocrypha. ENG The death metal band Symbolyc born in the summer of 2003, by an idea of Sox Aversana and Raffaele Pezzella. The intent is to create a band dedicated to extreme metal. After a year the group completes the first new songs that would later composed the track list of "Souls in the Dark", their first recording. In 2005 their first EP, "Wingless" immediately won the audience in the underground scene, giving the possibility to Symbolyc to be heard even outside of it's home area, performing at various live events. The band found it's own musical identity as well, with a sound extreme, but are purely personal and innovative compared to the fees imposed by the classic "Old School" of Europe and death metal, to which the band remains loyal and faithful. Mean while, the band underwent several line up changes, until the inclusion in the permanent Diego Laino, as a singer. Armed with this new training, Symbolyc working on new material and in the meantime they perform in various Italian clubs, also evolving in terms of image / attitude on stage. In late 2007 and early 2008 entered the studio to record their first full-length, and soon after signed with the Italian label My Kingdom Music. In 2009 he was then released "Engraved Flesh", an album that has been collecting numerous acclaim from audiences and critics. Symbolyc share the stage with many death metal bands, among which we mention the Udo, Vader (XV Agglutination Metal Festival 2009), Dismember, Emeth, Fleshgod Apocalypse Decapitated, Master, Avulsed, Sinister, God Dethroned, and many other promising reality of the Italian. The international success of this latest production is the inclusion of chopin the top 10 musicin the UK as best album, along with names like Immortal, Nile, Behemoth and Mastodon, namely the 9th place ranking. In 2011 Alex Mormile comes unexpectedly from the band for about a year and it is up to Domenico d'Alisa replace Alex. In 2012 Symbolyc play, among other things, the Total Metal Festival with bands such as Testament, Dark Funeral and Sadist, by the end of Domenico d'Alisa left the band and was replaced, after several test sessions , with the current guitarist Andrea Sacerdoti, which is immediately integrated into the group. The year 2013 will see the band involved in the recording of a promo that will be followed by the next full-length "Apocrypha".
