Silent Stream of Godless Elegy Biography

"Silent Stream Of Godless Elegy are the hidden gem of Folk Metal. It is time for the world to discover this excellent band."
Gunnar Sauermann (Metal Hammer, Germany)

SILENT STREAM OF GODLESS ELEGY have been pioneering their own way of what's now being called “Folk Metal” since their founding in 1995. They emerged from Moravia, which makes up the eastern third of modern day Czech Republic, deep within the Slavonic heartlands. It is the Slavic feelings of ancient longing and melancholy that fuel the fires of passion in their music, which is a unique combination of traditional Moravian folk music and doom/death metal. Tradition permeates the music of the Moravians by their use of violin, cello, and dulcimer; it also shows in the vocals and choral parts.

• SILENT STREAM OF GODLESS ELEGY are double national GRAMMY Award winners in hard'n'heavy category (called “Andel / Angel”)
• there is the album coming - completely acoustic - “Jiná” (2024)
• the album “Smutnice” (2018) was produced by Yossi Sassi (Yossi Sassi Band, ex-Orphaned Land), the world famous Oriental rock pioneer
• the album “Návaz” (2011) was recorded and mixed by mighty Roland Grapow (Masterplan, ex-Helloween), released by respected French label SEASON OF MIST with worldwide publicity, nominated to Czech GRAMMY Award
• SILENT STREAM OF GODLESS ELEGY have already played hundreds of gigs and festivals all over the Europe
