They've been called “the hillbilly Pink Floyd,” an apt description, particularly if you throw in elements of Incredible String Band, Neil Young, The Band, Dylan, Bowie and Syd Barrett. The band runs its own label, with four critically acclaimed studio albums A Good Thief Tips His Hat (1999) Flapjacks From The Sky (2003) The Great Unravel (2008) The Grand Slambovians (2010) A Box of Everything (2014) released through Sony Red as the band’s ‘greatest hits you’ve never heard". Their next studio album, ‘A Very Unusual Head’ will feature guests including guitarist Gary Lucas and Willie Nile, among others. Featuring: Joziah Longo (lead vocals, guitars, harmonica) Longo grew up in Philadelphia, playing traditional country, folk and mummers' music with his father. He relocated to NYC, to perform professionally and pursue his muse at venues ranging from CBGB’s to Carnegie Hall, as a headline performer. Since 2010 Longo has worked with Broadway’s Circle in The Square Theater NYC. There he wrote the music for two original productions, directed by the legendary Theodore Mann. Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, flute, theremin, and more!) Multi-instrumentalist Tink Lloyd, comes from a long line of feisty Irish musicians, sparking the band’s music and performances. A musical ‘stylist’, dressing the songs as needed, with an ever growing pile of instruments beside her side on the stage. Tink has worked with Joziah since meeting in the 1980’s. Sharkey McEwen (guitars, mandolin, backing vocals) Longtime musical partner of Joziah, McEwen grew up in LA, but has Louisiana roots. He cut his teeth as a player on Sunset Strip before coming to NYC in the early 90’s. His inventive, fluid playing compliments Joziah’s songs, and never upstages the story. With Joziah, Sharkey is has been the band’s primary engineer and co-producer since their first album. Felipe Torres (drums, percussion) New York native, is a music industry veteran sideman and recording artist, supporting the legends of rock and pop. Torres has toured extensively throughout the US, Canada and Europe, performing in a multitude of genres.
