The Prophet X

The Prophet X is a Gospel Rap artist and Christian minister based in Hollywood CA. He was born in Lima Ohio, but was raised in LA CA. He has been involved in Gospel Rap Ministry for over 18 years.

Prophet began rapping as a secular (worldly) rap artist but God soon revealed to him that He had a much BIGGER plan for his life. After several years of struggling to make it on the hip hop scene, The Prophet X turned his attention towards telling people about the power of Jesus.

As a Christian, he believes and testifies that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God and there is no other way to salvation than through faith and belief in Jesus. His music and his life are based on this belief.

The message is often referred to as REAL and RELEVANT.

There is a big difference between rapping "About" God and rapping "For" God. Any nonbeliever can rap "about" God and many do, but only a man chosen by God can rap "for" God... and it only takes a few seconds of listening to realize that The Prophet X is rapping "For" God.

The Prophet X brings a very strong biblical message to his listeners, in fact, the majority of the rap and spoken word lyrics are directly taken from the scriptures. Even though this music is considered “Hip Hop”, The Prophet X does not taint the message by adding “Hip Hop” to it.

This is more than just clever wordplay and words that rhyme but mean nothing. These words all have meaning and minister both to the Saved and Unsaved.

The message that he delivers is also clear and concise and enjoyable by listeners of all ages.

The music is written, arranged, composed produced, performed, mixed, and mastered all by The Prophet X, so to say he has a deep connection with every music track he uses is an understatement.

Perhaps the style can best be defined as original west coast rap with some moderate rock influences. Musically the tracks are designed to hold your attention while The Prophet X breaks down scriptures and stories from the bible as well as reflecting on his own life growing up in Los Angeles.

Ultimately any song you hear from The Prophet X will be centered on teaching the testimony of Jesus Christ.

In 2004 The Prophet X’s debut album, BLOOD OF THE PROPHETS was released on PROPHECY RECORDS and literally changed the entire Gospel Rap scene when it was released. The album features 18 tracks and was produced by The Prophet X and Paul Carlsen. This album is very eclectic and biblically strong and even includes several spoken word pieces.

In 2006 the second album STREET CORNER REDEMPTION was released by PROPHECY RECORDS. This album was a change for The Prophet X because it featured a more Commercial West Coast hip hop sound. This album has 15 tracks and is also produced by The Prophet X.

In 2012 The Prophet X formed a group with another notable Christian Rap artist by the name of Riverflow and together they became "Boanerges" which means Sons of Thunder. The debut album by Boanerges, entitled Sons of Thunder, was released by Prophecy Records and is one of the most lyrical and spiritually powerful projects to come out of the west coast in terms of Gospel Rap.

In 2013 The Prophet X released The Lost Writingz and this was actually a collection of songs that were written 8-9 years prior and were lost due to a crashed hard drive. In 2012 the hard drive was recovered and the songs were remixed and remastered and were finally released on PROPHECY RECORDS. This album features 15 tracks that take the listener back to the time when Gospel Rap was still all about God's glory.

In 2015 The Prophet X released Something to Believe In on Prophecy Records. Another powerful Christian Rap album with 15 tracks and features the hit songs, 100 percent, I Can Not Breath Without You and the title track Something to Believe In.

In 2017 The Prophet X completely reinvented himself and his genre by releasing a 7 song EP in the genre of Christian Metalcore! These 7 songs feature The Prophet X playing every instrument and doing all the vocals. This is a Hardcore Metal album with a mix of rap that is just as powerful and compelling as any professional Christian metalcore band like August Burns Red or For Today. Most of the longtime rap fans didn't know how to receive this album with all of the screaming and loud guitars but it opened the doors for a whole new fan base to start following the music career of The Prophet X.

A new album full of remixes is slated for release in early 2019.
