Gordon Campbell, Lead Vocalist. After 35 years of vocal work, front man Gordon Campbell discovered that what he really liked about rock & roll was the Blues! The Doors, The Animals, The Cream, Led Zeppelin…all his favorite Rock bands were, in truth, playing their version of that truly American genre! With this revelation as guidance, in 1999 he formed the Cold Comfort Band and shepherded it through its many personnel changes until the sound was perfect! With a singing style reminiscent of Joe Cocker, Eric Burdon and John Kaye, Gordon throws real power into the Cold Comfort musical selections. He has played commanded uncountable stages all throughout Southern California and Arizona since his first paid gig in 1965! When Gordon grabs the mic you know the vocals are in good hands and that this rockin’ house has been grabbed by The Blues, Baby! Robbie King, Lead guitarist and Vocals: Both retro and modern, Robbie King’s superb guitar work fires up the Cold Comfort Band’s spirit! Born in Wichita Falls Texas, RK grew up in the presence of some of the greatest Country, R&B and Blues artists of all time. His boyhood dream of a professional blues musician’s life has, indeed come true, as to date he has played on stage with Bonnie Riatt, Johnny Neel (song writer and keyboard player for the Allman Brothers Band), Johnny Winter, Eric Gales, Eddie Money, Charlie Musselwhite, Robben Ford and many other stars in the little Blue corner of the music heavens! Although his sound is unmistakably Blues, it has an original twist sure to please Rock, Blues and R&B fans everywhere!! Robbie’s first solo album, “Classic Case Of The Blues” has been well received by music industry pros throughout North America. Those of you that get the chance to hear it, or his tracks on any recording session lucky enough to have him “sittin’ in”, will no doubt learn that Robbie King is All Heart and All Real! Jerry Buck, Bass Guitar: Well known and well regarded around the SoCal area, Jerry Buck is truly an amazing player! His credits and stage partners throughout the last 3 decades of music are actually too numerous to mention! The drive and talent he delivers to Cold Comfort's tunes, are most appreciated by all lucky enough to come under his spell! Jonny Martinez, Drums, Percussion: The heartbeat and drive of the band is Johnny’s masterful and unique drum work. John Mila de la Roca, Keyboards & vocals: A true showman and an accomplished pianist, John’s melodic and forceful treatment of the band’s arrangements is one of the “keys” to our success! Known as 'Johnny 3-Way', when he sits in with local legends Big Papa and the TCB, John was a founding member of Orange County’s club circuit favorite Anthem for many years before getting on the Blues Bus with us! In his numerous appearances and professional musical projects throught Southern California, he has been fortunate enough to share stages with such super stars as Johnny Winter, Eric Gales, Eddie Money, Charlie Musselwhite, Lee Oskar and Robben Ford. His skill is only matched by his unbridled joy of performing Cold Comfort’s brand of progressive blues and leaving their crowds wanting to return again and again!
