Jesse Maclaine Biography
Natural born singer Jesse Maclaine was forced to take piano lessons as a teenager, this led her away from a secure career path in musical theater and into a dangerous and exciting life as a professional musician...
Mezzo soprano-pianist-composer Jesse Maclaine began working as a professional performer and recording artist in 1994, just five years later she collaborated with friends in New Orleans and RCA Studios Nashville to produce her premiere LP as Aural Elixir. Many people say her music is similar to Tori Amos, Sara Bareilles, Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple, or Carole King though Jesse has always noted her three main influences are Joni Mitchell, Thelonious Monk and Frank Zappa. Now based in Denver and seasoned by over two decades as a performer and composer, her musical versatility continues to fuel her work in multiple realms of the local music scene and on tour across the U.S.
Over the course of her 25 year career in music, Jesse has written 150+ songs, performed 2000+ shows, toured extensively across the US, self produced 4 LPs & 1 EP, composed/arranged a commissioned musical theater score for a NoCO production company, collaborated with a Denver theater group to compose and perform the incidental music for an original play, contributed songs to numerous playlists and compilation CDs, and recorded/produced dozens of live music videos. Jesse has shared stages with many notable musicians including legendary New Orleans drummer Johnny Vidacovich, and in 2018 she opened for Melissa Etheridge!
