Andrew Scotchie & the River Rats formed in Asheville NC as a street busking project in late 2011. Revered for their high energy live shows, dynamic musicianship & Scotchie’s larger than life stage presence, the band has continued to craft their hard driving style of rock n roll and are dedicated to building their musical family. Recently voted the # 1 rock n roll band in Western NC by Mountain Xpress Magazine Readers. The bands latest studio album "Family Dynamo" marks a new level of lyrical maturity and proves to be the best demonstration of their eclectic blend rock n roll, funk, blues and soul.

I always love hearing Andrew play. Tonight was a treat because I heard several songs that were new to me. Andrew's song writer skills just keep getting better.
At one point, he jumped down from the stage and RAN around singing and playing. He is a great showman.
He closed the night with my 'favorite ' Andrew song "Rock N Roll Set Your Soul Free. He got the audience on their feet moving to the music.
