Beks Biography
Beks has gained media acclaim from NME, Rolling Stone and made national headline news in 2023 for her outspoken advocacy of LGBTQIA+ safety and women’s rights. An artist with a passion for community and pop culture, Beks has worked with some of the leading talent from RuPaul’s Drag Race and made her debut at Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras 2023, performing to 40,000 people. She has received Spotify editorial support on NMF Germany, Switzerland, Asia & Australia, Main Stage, Apple NMD and has consistently charted on iTunes, peaking at #3 on the global iTunes Dance Charts with Devoted. Beks has also achieved two consecutive Australian ad campaigns for Channel 7’s Home and Away with The Thing About Us and Devoted. Beks has supported the likes of Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Vera Blue and appeared on Young Rock which aired on HBO/NBC in America. In 2022, Beks traveled to Berlin to collaborate and write music with a strong focus on dance music. During this time, unbeknown to Beks, she would write a song that would see her discography reach new heights with a feature on Follow You with Neptunica, released by Kontor Records, amassing 800,000 streams in one month. She also released her pride single All The Good Boys Are Gay with European dance duo Paradigm (4.5 million monthly listeners). Beks has returned to Australia after officially showcasing at SXSW in Austin, Texas 2023 and executively producing and recording with members of Blondie and Divinyls in LA. She has been nominated in the Vanda and Young Top 40 Songwriters as she gears up to release her debut EP ‘Close To Knowing’ in mid 2023.
