Tweed & Dixie Biography

The honest memoirs of country music's forefathers and all-out rock and roll attitude collide within the beautiful contradiction known as Tweed And Dixie. Meeting somewhere between Waylon and Whitesnake, their sound has been crafted from growing up in the working class, grease-driven Motor City Madhouse and running the backroads of Great Lakes country. The group's chemistry is comprised of the deeply rooted, country-rock soul of Barry Forster, pop-driven energy of Billy Gunther, gut-busting bass lines and soaring vocals of Rick Maida, and soulful, thunder-drumming of Justin Clifford (and his beard). Since their debut during the summer of 2015, the fellas have had the opportunity to share the stage with Josh Thompson, Dave & Julia, Jason Michael Carroll, Mickey Guyton, and Outshyne. "Our mission? spread the good vibrations." -Tweed And Dixie The band was initially founded by two cousins, Barry and Billy, hailing from Buick City, Michigan. After spending most of their lives grinding it out in the Midwest writing and performing with some of the areas most respected musicians, they decided to branch out on their own and unleash fury on the Northern Country scene in early 2014. A short year later, the fellas joined forces with Rick and Justin of Bay City, Michigan. "As soon as Justin dropped into the first back beat, the vibe was surreal. We knew right then this was gonna be something special," says Tweed And Dixie, "One thing we can definitely take pride in is the ability to bridge the gap between country and rock fans. It's an interesting place to be because we all have strong country heritage, but, we like to head bang to it. We are a 50/50 split. Tweed And Dixie." The fellas have recently signed with the Michael Entertainment Group (M.E.G.) under the Y'all Ternative Record Label and are hard at work in the studio prepping for their self-titled debut EP release in early 2016.
