Adrian Jean

Adrian Jean is one of the new rising writer, producer and singer in the Pop/R&B scene.

Adrian’s childhood was all about surviving. He was born in West Philadelphia crime-plagued ghetto, in a hardly functional family afflicted by drugs with a missing father. “1-tear” in his first album expresses his mum’s infinite pain when her husband left his family for another one.

At 7 years old, Adrian’s knew he would become a singer. At 10, he was sneaking inside concerts. One day, Teena Marie spotted the kid at one of her shows and asked her team to meet the boy. She saw the artist-to-be in Adrian and regularly invited him to her performances and for discussions. She inspired him to pursue his dreamed career; just like she did with young Lenny Kravitz.

Adrian fought his way into college and graduated in music from North Carolina A&T State University and then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University, all before the age of 22.

He then moved to LA to live his dream. Starting by living in his car for 3 years, under the Hollywood signs, writing his first songs, performing as a tenor at LA Opera and Churches. “See the Stars”, in his first album is a tribute to this period of his life.

In his first album released in April 2019, Adrian explores various breeds of love and relationships. Besides being beautifully complex, he believes “Love” helps one become the best version of oneself. Be it the love for yourself, or for others; romantic love or sexual love. Hit songs “Temporary Lover” and “Another One” disinhibit rocky relationships, whereas “Always” and “Forever Today”, look for what could make love eternal.

Adrian’s hatred for small-town-mentality only matches his desire to discover as many countries, cultures, and people as possible. The more he embraces the richness and creativity of the world; the more he escapes from a pre-destiny of struggles. He spends 1h/day to learn a new language and 1h/day to listen to new music. He already speaks (on top of English) Portuguese, Spanish and French. He is currently living part time between US, Brazil and France and already made 3 songs with Brazilian artists.

His musical icons include Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce and Whitney Houston, and Adrian’s music is Frank Ocean, H.E.R., SZA mixed with mainstream pop that never seems to escape the roots of the aforementioned influences.
