Latimore Sky Biography

PJ Groft- Vocals/Rhythm Guitar:

PJ is from the small town of New Oxford, PA. He has been sing and playing guitar since his high school days. PJ started writing songs not long after learning how to play the basic chords on his guitar. Singing and performing is a passion of his and you can see it every time he plays. PJ's musical influences span all genres of music, but enjoy songs with great guitar solos and meaningful lyrics the most. Some of his favorite bands are Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Shooter Jennings, Foo Fighters and Jason Isbell.

Brett Hayes- Drummer/Vocals
Brett is originally from Baltimore, MD. He played in the local scene for many years. He played with local favorites “The Loft”, “Avalon”, “Saving Grace”, and “Crushing Day”. A couple of the bands played close to 250 days a year and played from Killington, Vermont to Key West, Florida.

During his off days, Brett did commercial and freelance gigs. He also became a graphic designer and designed record covers. Brett also played with two traveling bands as a session musician, “The Kyf Brewer Band” and “Disappear Fear”. These bands traveled the Country supporting their albums from Nashville, New York to California.

Brett eventually moved to San Diego and got involved in the local music scene. He played with traveling band “Street Heart”, an original group, “The Bridget Joyce Band”, and various other freelance gigs. After that, Brett played with “Inland Empire” and played with the original group, “The Next”. In addition, he played in his company band “ROCKME”. Most recently, Brett played in a John Cougar tribute band, 90's alternative band, “Audio Vault” and original metal band, “Beyond Retaliation”.

During Brett’s travels, he has opened for “The Black Crows”, Ronnie Montrose, “Orgy”, Bret Michaels, Michael Sweet, “The Connells”, “White Lion”, “The Bacon Brothers”, Smithereens, “Great White”, Billy Squier, and many more. Brett has even accompanied Elvira, Gary Busey and Richard Simmons.
Mike Stem- Bass Guitar

Mike Stem, from York Springs, PA started playing bass just out of high school and wasted no time joining his first band Brandenburg, where he learned the writing and recording thing and also the love of it.

This was a 10 year journey writing and producing the album 'Keeper of Time' before moving on to a solo/partner project creating the band Vertical Descent where he had the opportunity to write a more personal album 'Brilliant Ignorance'.

He has also played in various cover bands; Ramped, One Foot In, and Blind Fate.

Mike's love of music expands to just about every type there is. His playing style always seems to pull him to progressive funk and applies a emotional soul stealing drive behind the cool guys with the guitars but also stays lock step with that little bass drum beater to create a driven collaborative wonder.

Sid Snyder- Lead Guitar and Vocals:

Sid grew up in Hanover, PA. Sid has been surrounded by musicians his entire life. His parents were in a country band while he was growing up and his older siblings influenced him with early 60's and 70's rock and roll with the bands that they were in. As he grew up, Sid enjoyed late 80's and early 90's rock, but eventually found his way to the blues. Not only does Sid bring a tremendous amount of musical talent and knowledge to Latimore sky, he also contributes with writing and singing.

Latimore Sky is an original/cover rock and roll band. We play rock like it used to be played. Our music is created through emotion and passion. We love what we do and you will too.
