I went to the Gauthier Toux Trio concert last night in Meudon and objectively it was packed with a very attentive and good public and it was really an amazing concert... Great musician all together, I really did enjoy it a lot... JEF.

Gauthier Toux Trio Biography

Created in autumn 2013, this trio is the meeting of tree young musician from European Superior Conservatory.
The youngest one,the pianist Gauthier Toux
just got his Bachelor in Music at "Haute
Ecole de musique jazz (HEMU) de
Lausanne" and he is actually working on his
Master Performance in Lausanne and
Cophenhagen ( he have played with Nico
Gori, Jay Henderson, Obed Calvaire...).
The drummer, Maxence Sibille (Erik
Truffaz, Eric Legnini, Diego Imbert...) got his Master Performance at the HEMU jazz Lausanne in 2012, and now he is growing up more and more in his musician Career across differents musical way.
Recently, Kenneth Dhal Knudsen (Gilad Hekselman,Jim Black, Soren Moller, Jaleel Shaw...) the danish bass player just joined the Band, after finishing his Master Degree in Berlin Jazz Insitute, and now he plays all over the Europe.
Inspired by the new jazz wave but also by differents music as hip hop, never forgotten the roots and the tradition.
They always looking for playing some fresh music, to attract the audience in their own universe.
The Gauthier Toux Trio, named in the favorite artist of the "OFF" Cully jazz 2013 finalist Avignon jazz contestjazz in 2012 has played in place like Jazz à Vienne, Jazz à Orléans, Copenhagen jazz festival, Jazz Club d'Annecy (jazz contreband 2012),L'AMR (Genève), jazz club Union Tempo (Monnetier Mornex), Chorus (Lausanne), Sunset-Sunside (Paris), Periscope (Lyon), MJC Chamonix...

Formé à l'automne 2012, ce trio rassemble trois musiciens issus de conservatoire supérieurs européen. Le jeune pianiste, Gauthier Toux (français) aussi vient d'obtenir son Bachelor à la Haute Ecole de musique jazz (HEMU) de Lausanne et prépare maitenant son Master Performance à Copenhague et Lausanne (au cours de sa jeune carrière, il a eu l'opportunité de jouer avec des musiciens tels que Joel Frahm, Nico Gori, Obed Calvaire, Alex Riel...).
Le batteur, Maxence Sibille, français lui aussi a obtenu son Master Performance de l'HEMU jazz de Lausanne en 2012, et poursuit maitenant sa carrière musical a travers divers chemin musicaux (qui lui ont permis de jouer avec Eric Truffaz, Diego Imbert, Thomas Encho, David El Malek...).
Enfin, le Contrebassiste Danois Kenneth Dhal Knudsen, vient d'obtenir son Master à la Berlin Jazz Institute, on a deja pu l'entendre au côte de Gilad Hekselman(présent sur les deux disques de Kenneth), ou encore Joel Frahm, Johnathan Blake...Cette rencontre musical illustre parfaitement leur diversité culturelle. Ce trio devient alors un lieu de metissage, de recherche de sonoritées. Tous trois inspirés par la nouvelle vague du jazz, ainsi que par d'autres musiques tel le hip hop, mais sans jamais renier la tradition, ils cherchent sans cesse à jouer une musique fraiche, pour attirer l'auditeur à pénétrer leur univers.
Le Gauthier Toux Trio s'est deja produit à Jazz à Vienne (Scène Cybèle), Jazz à Orléans, Copenhagen jazz festival, Chorus Jazz Club, B-­‐flat (Berlin) au Jazz Club d'Annecy (jazz contreband 2012), au Cully jazz 2013(nommé par les coups de coeur), à L'AMR (Genève), jazz club Union Tempo (Monnetier) Mornex, finaliste tremplin jazz d'Avignon en 2012, Chorus Lausanne, le Périscope (Lyon)...
