About this concert
My no-longer new monthly concert series (third Thursday every month) continues this month with Episode 10 (wow 10!!) featuring the gorgeous sounds of singer-songwriter Colleen Brown, who is coming in from out of town to serenade us with her sweetness. <3 This residency is basically an excuse to hear some very talented and skilled pals play their tunes in a chill, pared down way, and a reason to get the fire under all of our asses to finish and debut some new original tunes, since the series' brief is to have at least one "world debut" per set. Colleen Brown - vocals, piano, guitar x Jessica Stuart - vocals, guitar and/or koto SO, hope you'll stop in even if just for a few tunes - the music will be sweet, and flow freely, and there could be collaborations between artists, and debuts of new songs. Super weird, early time slot (5-7:15pm), but no cover, just the good ole generosity jug, as always at the Southern Cross room at the Tranzac Club. xo Coming up! Episode 11: Thursday, December 20, 5-7:15pm, with featured guest Jordana Talsky Music doing her music pared down for the first time ever!

JESSA (fka The Jessica Stuart Few) Biography
When Vancouver-born, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Jessica Stuart moved to Toronto, quitting work as vintage clothing buyer for a career in music, her goals were simple – release an album of original songs, hear her music on the radio, and satisfy her wanderlust on tour around the world. Stuart’s three-piece The Jessica Stuart Few checked the final box with their first Asian tour (and Top 40 single in Japan) in 2013, and since then, have played music festivals and been heard on airwaves from Australia to Germany and beyond.
Having made a name for herself through signature rhythmic and harmonically adventurous art pop, Jessica is now joining forces with prolific producer/songwriter Robyn Dell’Unto (LU KALA - DCMO (Don't Count Me Out), Good Lovelies - I See Gold etc.) to become JESSA, smashing layers of playful guitars and vocals into an indie-pop package, singing about trying to keep life fun while existing in this weird world.
If you hadn’t heard Jessica yet through her Best Album win at the Independent Music Awards, her five songs in the finals of the Canadian Songwriting Competition, or the record crushing, tear-jerking CBC documentary about her time living in Japan as a child (Finding Fukue, Nov 2018, 3 million + views, featuring Jessica’s musical score), then you’ll get to know JESSA through her debut single, Simple Little Song, out June 2019.
