Watcher Moon Biography

Watcher Moon blends a unique style of Psychedelic, Funk, Rock, Jazz, Blues and Reggae into a unique "Alternative Jam Band" style of music. With up to three hour shows filled with original compositions, Watcher Moon performs virtuosic improvisation sections taking audiences on a musical voyage. Watcher Moon is inspired by bands such as: Yes, Rush, Medeski Martin and Wood, The Doors, Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, 311, Phish, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, Tool, STI, Red Hot Chili Peppers,Traffic, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Alice N Chains, Les Claypool, Primus, Metallica, Wes Montgomery, Steel Pulse, Bob Marley, Aerosmith, Rage Against The Machine and Sound Garden. Writer/Publisher Gordon James Turrisi (Guitar/Vocals) met Evan Joffred (Bass/Vocals) in 2016. Evan’s Funk Rock driven bass lines mixed immediately with Gordon’s Alternative Funk Rock Jam Band Style to make a unique sound. They auditioned Lamar Little at Bridge Family Studio's, Burbank CA, and immediately started recording music together. Each of the musicians has extensive experience playing in a plethora of music projects that landed them opening for national touring acts as well as music for film and television. Some of the acts include legendary names such as: Leon Russell, Ziggy Marley, Deftones, Iron Butterfly, Trevor Hall, W.A.S.P., L.A. Guns, Great White, All That Remains and Orgy. Their versatile styles and passion for all kinds of music formed a supergroup of talent called Watcher Moon. Recently, in 2017 Watcher Moon was booked to open for Robbie Kreager of The Doors at the Libby Bowl in Ojai. In 2016 Watcher Moon opened for Iron Butterfly at the Canyon Club, Gordon sat in with America The Band at a sold La Mirada PAC, was haled as one of the best bands at Topanga Days and booked their own West Coast/Middle American tour. While on tour they opened for Flow Bots and Kymani Marley in Boulder Colorado. While on tour they attracted the attention of multiple booking agents, producers and touring musicians for future collaborations. Watcher Moon also recorded an EP of funky jammy original tunes at Bridge Family Studios in Burbank called, "Jellyfish Ballon." Watcher Moon's two EPs and live shows have gotten props from A list music industry keystones such as members of Sir Douglas Quintet, 311, Tool, America The Band and Hani Naser (7 Walkers, Santana, Violent Femmes, The Doors). Watcher Moon also gotten the attention of A list film producer Darius Fisher (Julian Lennon, Sean Lennon, Cher, Prince, Rolling Stones, Edward Sharp and The Magnetic Zeros) who has agreed to work with the band on music videos. Watcher Moon Released their first EP, Blood on The Mountain in (2104). The EP was produced by Gordon James Turrisi and Johnny Perez (Sir Douglas Quintet) at Skyline Studios Topanga. Watcher Moon has started the production of a full length LP, "Wisdom" to be released in 2017. Watcher Moon's goal is to inspire and heal the universe through music. Watcher Moon manifests multidimensional sound healing through their unique style of experimental, psychedelic, funk-rock fusion. Healing through the power of music is important to the members of Watcher Moon. In 2015 Gordon did a sound healing for actor, Tommy Chong which included a CBD injection healing ritual to fight Cancer. Watcher Moon's mission is to heal our planet and universe by opening sound portals of love and light to put a smile on listeners faces as they groove to subtile and climatic healing tonal vibes.
