About Daphné Mia Essiet: After years of traveling the globe for work, Daphné Mia Essiet decided to step into a new challenge to pursue her dream as an artist. The American-born Franco Nigerian artist expresses her love for the art through music, visual art and poetry. She graduated from the Institute of Audio Research, and also studied Jazz Performance at City College. For years she has been writing her own material as well as producing and writing her own music. Her compositions are inspired by Love, Womanhood, Travels, Self-Discovery and Society. She currently resides in Harlem, New York About the venue: Already veteran bookers of world-class musical acts from their experience at Shrine World Music Venue, Silvana’s music schedule is filled with musical talent from New York City and all over the globe. On any given night you can enjoy the soothing music of a jazz quartet, a master conguera from Cuba, a reggae band and then, if you’re lucky an impromptu jam session.
