CALLING ALL CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG FANS !!! BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND, LEGENDS OF THE CANYON SUNDAY !!! We have another Great day of music planned for you on Sunday, December 9th featuring HEART OF GOLD (A Tribute to Neil Young) and DEJA VU (A Musical Retrospective of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young) paying tribute to four of the most iconic artists born out of the Laurel Canyon singer songwriter phenomenon of the early 70’s. HEART OF GOLD (A TRIBUTE TO NEIL YOUNG) - 3pm There’s no denying Neil Young as music’s most uncompromising rock royalty, he’s an irreverent poet with a rock and roll heart. His music embodies the arc of American experience, challenges authoritative views, defies industry pigeon-holing and continues to have an impact on musicians and fans worldwide. Our matinee show will be focusing on the genius of Neil Young as Tom Sweeney and the Heart of Gold band seek to pay tribute to one of the most respected and prolific rock/folk guitarists of the late 20th century. You’ll hear all the great songs, “Cinnamon Girl”, “Hey, Hey, My, My”, “Down By the River”, “Heart of Gold”, “Old Man”, “Harvest Moon”, “Rockin’ in the Free World” and many other classics from Neil’s vast catalogue. DEJA VU (A MUSICAL RETROSPECTIVE OF CROSBY, STILLS, NASH & YOUNG) - 7pm Our evening show will be a salute to the legendary super group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young ! We're very excited to announce the return of Deja Vu performing the music of CSN&Y at the Coffee Gallery Backstage ! If you were able to attend one or all of this band's last 3 performances here, you know that they completely sold out well in advance, so we would encourage you to make your reservations early to secure your seat! This particular show will l be performed all acoustically! When Crosby, Stills and Nash initially came together in 1968 and wrote the material for their first album, they would travel around to their friends houses in Laurel Canyon and perform the songs from start to finish using only acoustic guitars and their voices. This show will be very much like that, the only exception being that they will be performing a greatest hits set which spans throughout the entire career of the iconic supergroup's nearly 50 year career. You'll hear all of your favorites, Helplessly Hoping, Teach Your Children, Guinnevere, Love the One You're With, Just a Song Before I Go, Wooden Ships, Ohio, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Marrakesh Express, Deja Vu, Southern Man.......as well as some of the other great songs that the band has worked up and are excited to perform for you! Distilling this material down to the most basic elements allows the beauty of the 3 and 4 part harmonies to shine through, and also showcases the intricate guitar parts and alternate tunings that are present in the songs. So please mark your calendars and make your plans to join us for this very special evening presentation of the music of Crosby, Stille, Nash & Young! SPECIAL OFFER !!!! We have a very special offer concerning these 2 shows, if you attend one or the other, the admission price will be $20, however, if you are interested in attending BOTH shows, you will receive a $10 discount meaning your total admission for both shows would be $30 !!! “Sunday in the afternoon, what have you got to lose” ?
