About this concert
Harvest Sons announces the band's 1st of 2 EPs, "Flat Black Sessions, Volume 1", out October 26th, 2018, with Volume 2 coming Summer 2019. Recorded in Lone Tree, IA at Flat Black Studios, the 2 EPs feature the band's first collection of rock infused roots music featuring the songwriting and fiddle playing of Seth Cocquit, guitar and harmonies of Nik Grafelman, "Nasty" Nathan Cowan on electric lead, Elyse Wiley's vocal harmonies, bassist Andy Greiner and Metallica aficionado and drummer Nathan Glaser. Harvest Sons is a group of Midwest friends rocking and folking out in our own alternative universe. Based out of Peoria, Illinois, Seth often refers to Rust Belt frames of mind as inspiration for songwriting, having come of age in a time surrounded by economic depression; from growing up near the tiny West Illinois town of Galesburg, and having spent the last 8 years living in Peoria, which has seen its share of hard times. The rust belt frame of mind, however, can be felt from Pittsburgh to Omaha, and everywhere in between. With the infusion of substantive choruses, melodies written for classic rock junkies and instrumentation made for the bluegrass and rock genres, Harvest Sons hopes to craft songs for today's savvy music lover. Show starts at 8pm with Daniel Watkins
