WOMEN CROSSING THE LINE / A Performance Festival When you cross a line you step into the unknown and untraveled. This day long festival celebrates women creators breaking down the barriers of gender, the borders of Miami based performance, the limitations of specific disciplines and cross-cultural barriers. The women performing in this festival are all boundary breakers. Performers: Inez Barlatier- Singer/ Songwriter of Haitian descent whose love of the African diaspora is infused in her multi-cultural music. Renee Chavez- Dancer/ Choreographer/ Director with a focus on Afro- Indigenous traditional dance ...from a long line of women... the original Sangre de Cristo. Jenny Larsson- Recipient of multiple grants and awards for her work as a choreographer, film maker and multi-media artist Winner of the 2017 South Florida Consortium Award. Marie Claire Macadar- Musician/Puppeteer creates original songs that are narrative for puppetry. Jean Minuchin- Performance Artist blending puppetry, storytelling and video to look at today's problems. Presenting a piece recently shown at the L.A. Fringe Festival and NYU’s “Performance as Activism". Marie Whitman- Poet and Performing Artist weaves words mixed with movement and visceral visuals for a unique spin on the spoken word form. Zynzelay Whitsett- Creates in the ancient, futuristic tradition of art as a tool for healing and community development, utilizing various mediums including music, dance, visual arts and written word. Magali Wilensky- Her work includes Installation and performance art directly engaging with audiences through sound, movement and visual art as a healing force. These women will provide a day of arts that will challenge your imagination and push your understanding of the arts, the world we live in and elicit all your emotions. Come join us! Inez Barlatier Biography

Inez Barlatier is a Haitian-American multidisciplinary performing artist. Her music is inspired by multi-cultural wisdom and rhythms. Her children’s show, Ayiti: Stories & Songs from Haiti, has been featured in international conferences and tours the U.S.

Inez's work has been featured on several Miami news programs, national radio, television and streaming stations as well as in independent films Razing Liberty Square by Katja Esson, Madame Pipi by Rachelle Salnave & LUDI by Edson Jean. Internationally, she has performed in the Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Spain, Central America, Cuba, Cameroon and Haiti.
