River Dan Biography
Montgomery, Alabama is known for many things, and one of them is music. "It must be in water," some say about the "River Region," a place where the Coosa, Tallapoosa, and Alabama Rivers meet, that has produced such musical groundbreakers as Big Mamma Thornton, Nat King Cole, and Hank Williams.
Montgomery is also becoming known for a young man named River Dan. He earned the nickname as a child, always huntin and fishin barefoot, and well, in 20 years, not much has changed. When Dan is not in the woods or a creek searchin for his next meal, you'll find him pickin'. grinnin, and sangin' his heart out at the region's most notorious honkey tonks and music listening rooms alike.
River Dan and His Band play a raw blend of "Roots Music" combining soulful country, blues, rock, bluegrass, and Gospel, and their raucous musicianship is matched only by Dan's distinctive and powerful voice. The band is currently working on its debut album and booking wild live shows that are attracting larger and larger crowds.
The song says "Stars Fell on Alabama," well, this one is rising...fast. Catch him if you can!
