Equal parts card-carrying virtuoso and sonic rebel, classically trained violinist and globetrotting DJ, Omari Toomer blends these seemingly opposite identities as seamlessly as he does B-sides, rare grooves, and top 40 trap. Fundamentally formed in the talent factory that is LaGuardia, OT crossed over from music to sports for a hot minute before graduating with a Degree in Economics and Engineering from Brown University. Creating, in the process, a Boarding School Kid with a Group Home Heart and an Ivy League Degree.


Fast-Forward to full-fledged adulthood to (OR "AND") find a multifaceted man with a vision for sound moving rhythmic weight in a hollow city searching for its soul in the echo of a drained glass. About his business, but never a suit, O is known for staying ahead of the curve; building the bassline of sonic social success, always in contribution to the cultural crescendo, and out before the beat drops.


His DJ CV reads like an anthropological history of NYC Nightlife. Omari has crafted the sound of such premiere spots as The Box, Mr H, Avenue, Catch, Bunker Club 1920, Lotus, and Cielo. Currently serving as music curator for such venues as Vandal NY, Beauty and Essex and Stanton Social, his supreme value is generated by the creation of an uplifting vibe where people can connect and reflect while dancing, above all else.


A veteran DJ who not only gets busy but stays busy, you can catch him weekly at Paul's Baby Grand, Vandal NY, PHD, Beauty and Essex, Stanton Social, and the Hotel Rivington. Omari’s auditory arbitrage prescribes downtempo for the high strung and psychic uplift for the downtrodden. Finca Fresh, Omari frequents both Downtown and Central American circles, and can be caught beachside in both Nicaragua and Costa Rica by the inaugurated few.
