Disciples of Separate Kingdom Biography
Kauai’s grimiest Hip Hop duo, Disciples of Separate Kingdom, are being called, "The Mobb Deep of Kauai."
The authentically raw emcees from Wainiha, HI, pack a musical style that holds true to Hip Hop's original boom bap flavor. Infused with grimy bass lines, signature ukulele riffs and lyrical reflections of life, love, poverty, addiction, revolution and Hawaiian sovereignty.
DSK’s tones of urgent mass awakening mix effortlessly with witty, bouncy hooks reminiscent of early 90’s Hip Hop gods.
The combo makes for a rough, nostalgic, yet fresh offering to the world of modern Hip Hop, a realm often thirsty for this kind of deep density and, paradoxically, light playfulness. The pair’s audible art paints a philosophical picture that takes listeners to the deepest corners of human emotion, shedding light on the dark struggle that comes with striving to exist in the most real form in a society that often feels diluted and sugar-coated, but they never forget to enjoy the ride while doing it.
DSK aims straight for the soul and chills to the bone, but promises involuntary head bobbing and an absolute blast, simultaneously.
