About this concert
Hearing Trees brings their debut album "Quiet Dreams" back to Peterborough. The group’s lush, layered brand of ambient and anxious rock is built atop a foundation inspired by genre stalwarts like R.E.M., Matthew Good, and The Tragically Hip and tinged with the more modern and atmospheric musings of Wintersleep and The National. Coupled with sometimes cryptic, always captivating poetry, Hearing Trees offers a true masterclass in sweet-sounding catharsis. "While we are still early in 2018, one band has already delivered some of the best lyrical lines of the year...It’s an emotionally rewarding experience from a band worth getting to know ASAP." The Revue "This is epic indie, pretty and admirable in equal doses. Signals the arrival of a new force, a band we can all get behind." mp3hugger "The introspective, dreamy sound brings to mind the emphatic poetry of The Tragically Hip, mixed with the energy of indie act The National...The storytelling in Quiet Dreams shows that their narrative type of lyricism is alive and well in Canada." - The Manitoban

Hearing Trees Biography

This band has stories to tell. Anchored by Graham Hnatiuk’s warm baritone,, Hearing Trees takes you on a poetic narrative journey, winding between uncertainty and love. P

Their latest single, Bones, is an emotionally insistent surrender to the feeling that that we can obtain a conclusion to a problem there is no solution for, except to go forward. Bones, the second song from their new partnership with producing duo Rusty Matyas (Imaginary Cities, Waking Eyes) and Lloyd Peterson (JP Hoe, The Weakerthans), is a follow-up to Million Times, a summer singalong anthem, released in June 2019.

After 4 strait years of recording and touring, totalling 136 shows coast to coast in Canada, Hearing Trees took a break to write and focus on further developing their sound and is looking forward to getting back on the road this spring in 2020 with an invigorated sense of purpose; both philosophically and sonically.

Hearing Trees is Andy Cole, Eric Ducharme, Kyle Kunkel and Graham Hnatiuk. They are from Winnipeg, Canada. More information is available at www.hearingtrees.org
