About this concert
After its first successful events in 2015 and 2016, Portsmouth’s Dials festival returns, bringing some of the best national and local new music talent to venues along Albert Road in Southsea, Portsmouth. The 2018 edition will take place on Saturday October 6th. This year Dials is proud to work with its official charity partner Solent Mind who provide a range of services to support people with mental health problems. The previous Dials events were praised for their friendly community spirit, quality of acts, value for money and gender diversity of the bill. A number of Dials alumni such as Dream Wife, Fickle Friends and Black Honey have all gone on to gain wider national recognition. In 2015 the event won ULX’s Best Small Festival award.

Bella Spinks Biography

Bella Spinks is a singer/songwriter from Brighton. She played her first gig at Brighton's Concorde 2 at only 12 years of age. Fusing her characteristic piano style and inventive vocals she has drawn comparisons to Kate Bush and Regina Spektor. She has a passion for creating both interesting sounds and words. Her live performances have been described as being intriguing and compelling.

To date she has supported The Staves, Rae Morris, Ellie Goulding, Low Chimes, Sea of Bees, Foy Vance and has played shows for London Communion.

Her next single 'Laurel Tree' is due in June 2018 ahead of her debut album 'Homeostasis' following in September 2018 on Sublime Recordings. The album was produced by Matt Ingram [Laura Marling - Lianne La Havas - Denai Moore] with string arrangements by Tom Hobden [Noah and The Whale].

'Bella has the true instincts of every born poet, lyricist or writer that ever breathed'
