Lineup: - Piece of Maiden - Chris Howling - Tyron - Spartan - MoDo Metal de Houte – der Name ist hier Programm. Denn er bedeutet nichts anderes, als harten Rock und Metalsounds, kompromisslose Klänge der härteren Gangart, inmitten einer atmosphärischen Waldlkulisse. Das Festival wurde 2009 ins Leben gerufen und ist schon jetzt zwischen Aachen und Mönchengladbach nicht mehr aus der alljährlichen Festivallandschaft wegzudenken. Ausgetragen auf dem Gelände des Lucifer’s Dragon MC in Erkelenz-Tenholt, ist es eine Anlaufstelle sowohl für lokale Helden als auch überregionale Größen – Hauptsache, es rockt! Dabei lebt das Festival gerade von den Gegensätzen, die sein Name schon erahnen lässt. Hier treffen sich Biker, und Rockfans, Szenegänger und Neugierige, um jedes Jahr ein Mal im September den harten Rockklängen zu frönen. Neben den Bands ist es gerade die Atmosphäre, die das Festival auszeichnet und von den Besuchern besonders gelobt wird. Ob vor der Bühne oder im Clubhaus, am Grill oder am Lagerfeuer – unvergessliche Festivalstimmung ist hier garantiert. Besucher Metal de Houte 2011 So ist es auch nicht verwunderlich, wenn man die vielen Besucher immer wieder sagen hört: „Wer ein Mal beim Metal de Houte gewesen ist, kommt wieder!“ And as always: Come in peace or stay at home!

Spartan Biography
Originating from the Netherlands Spartan are the perfect example of a band which combines Power Metal and Death Metal! Their lyrics are inspired by tales of ancient Greek mythology and are themed around heroic battles, gods and demi-gods in a glorious ode to the past. The energetic elements of power metal perfectly blend with harsh vocals riling up the audience for the well anticipated solos which are played with excellent technical musicianship by two very accomplished guitar players.
The band consists of Jeffrey Rademakers on vocals, Pieter Vink and Nick van Beusekom on guitar, Mike van Bekkum on bass and Frank Bos on drums. Following the release of their first EP “For Glory” in 2009, they embarked on a tour across Holland. The success of the album speaks for itself as Spartan performed throughout Europe between 2009-2013. Most notably they have shared the stage with the likes of Marduk, Septic Flesh, Moonspell, Negura Bunget and Greek legends Rotting Christ.
Late 2014 found Spartan signing their first endorsement deal with Dutch guitar manufacturer 'Serpent King Guitars' before releasing their latest album “The Fall of Olympus” through Into The Limelight Records on December 3rd, 2015.
The album is a demonstration of Spartans versatility and unique style as it balances Melo-Death with heavier sounding elements of Melodic Power Metal. It includes skyrocketing choruses in tracks like “Breaking the Chains of Olympus” introduced with striking lead intervals and powerful upbeat melodies found in tracks such as “Elysium”. It is not surprising that they have been compared to bands such as: Amon Amarth, Symphony X, Kamelot, Iced Earth and In Flames.
Now, signed to Black Sheep Bookings, Spartan will march in Phalanx formation throughout Europe. It is their pledge to conquer the hearts and souls of every true metalhead out there.
For glory they fight in their quest to besiege every country in the world.
They are ready to take the stage and by the Gods they shall!
