Murder MY Biography
Murder is a melodic death metal band from Shah Alam, Malaysia. The band consists of Dee (vocals), Ehsan (drums), Afnan (guitar), Amnan (guitar), Musa (guitar) and Filus (bass).
The foundation of the band has started on 2010. Dee and Ehsan are on their last year of high school when they both decided to form a band. Months of searching for guitarist, they approached Afnan after seeing his talent and asked to jam together. Afnan later agreed to be part of the band, and thus ‘Murder, She Wrote’ was born. The name was chosen from a popular thriller drama with the same name. Murder, She Wrote are highly influenced by thrash metal at their early stage.
The band's desire to get serious resulting in additional of personnel. Meor joined the band as a rhythm guitarist. Murder, She Wrote played their first gig ‘New Breed’ in 2012. At this point, Ikram joined as a temporary bassist. Meor later left the band with Ikram to concentrate on his new project. The band was left with 3 original members, playing a few gigs before entering hiatus until 2014. The decision to go on hiatus are mainly due to all members are still studying. As a result, the band attempt to write its own song are put into delay.
Towards the end of 2014, Amnan joined as the second guitarist. From this point, Murder, She Wrote is now known as ‘Murder’, removing ‘She Wrote’ from its name. The band had also started to write its own song. With the introduction of Amnan, Murder changed their sound drastically with blending old school death metal, melodic death metal, and thrash metal into the mix.
In September 2015, Ikram rejoined as a full member to complete the line up. Murder has since actively playing gigs around Klang Valley. One of the band highlight was becoming the opening band for local death metal legend, Suffercation.
On christmas eve of 2016, Afnan decided to continue his studies oversea. The band was left with 4 members, before settling with new guitar player, Musa. The band changed their lineup again for 2018 with the introduction of Filus as the band new bassist and the returning Afnan, making Murder a six piece band.
With the current lineup, Murder are currently recording their debut album which are scheduled to release on mid 2018.
