Radiochurch

Shout out to Chelsea Heights Elementary; the unlikely birthplace of Radiochurch. Vocalist Ellis Cleve and drummer Lars Johnson first met as rosy-cheeked 2nd graders in music class. Over the next decade they went their separate ways; Ellis started his own solo project utilizing pianist Jack Barrett while Lars enrolled at McNally Smith where he met guitarist Trevor Wiest and bassist/cellist Greg Byers. The five musicians finally connected at a jam session; Ellis happened to be a featured artist the same night Radiochurch’s rhythm section was the house band. From there, they started to craft their unique blend of 90's R&B/hip-hop, soul, and heavy rock to create a fluid and dynamic performance. Recently Radiochurch was a finalist for Musicology 2017 at Paisley Park; other major shows include music festivals and sporting events around the Twin Cities. They are currently working on a full-length album centered around themes of social injustice and celebrating individuality.
