About this concert
Friday Harbor locals Daniel Day, Darvis Taylor, and Scott Sluis invite you to come out to Mr. Believable's to hear our new band. Our sound is bright, dense and passionate touching on themes of love, loss pain, and the stories of people’s experiences around us. Look for our Winter 2018 release “Underneath A Canopy You’ll Hear and See the Broken Light and Sound” produced by Adam Kasper and recorded on San Juan Island. Our EP "Adam" will be released August 15th. We’d like to get to know you. Welcome to the scene. https://www.facebook.com/desolationsoundhq/app/123966167614127/

Desolation Sound Biography

Living on an island in the middle of the Salish Sea helps set a mood and a mindset. The band Desolation Sound calls their music Salish Rock, "It's the sound of that mysterious, shifting boundary where the ocean meets the shoreline” says Daniel, the bands songwriter. "We have many gloomy days when going into to rehearsal space and creating is very appealing to us".
The band was born on San Juan Island in 2018 and consists of Daniel DeShon on vocals and guitar, Darvis Taylor on Bass, keys, vocals and engineering, Scott Sluis on drums, percussion and vocals, and Blake Night on guitar.
Our first E.P. entitled “Hope” was released in 2020. Our 2nd E.P. “Flight Case” was released in 2021. Our debut LP “Salish Rock” was released in July of 2022 on Robo Jack Records. Our second record "Silver Rain" will drop on August 10th, 2023!
