Dan Bailey Tribe Biography
Dan Bailey Tribe presents soul funk reggae inspired by the wanderlust of an endless summer. Soulful hooks and hip-hop prophecies travel through roots rhythms, funky afro-beats, bluesy riffs and fierce primal drum breaks. A native of New York’s infamous Hamptons, Bailey’s South African roots and command of the West African djembe channel a vibration of celebration. Both on and off stage, the Tribe awakens everyday magic through the conscious anthems of a rhythmystic revolution.
Wall Street Journal:
"The band was local Hamptons funk group Dan Bailey Tribe...To us, it felt a lot more Caribbean island than Long Island. Or Montauk beach bash meets tribal dance party.”
New York Times:
“Beat Master Dan Bailey...is an accomplished drummer, guitarist and songwriter, but his connection to the African drum is personal. His mentor was the Grammy Award-winning Nigerian drummer Babatunde Olatunji.”
