Lamar Riddick Biography
Lamar was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina in 1993. He lived in North Carolina with his mother and younger siblings until he moved to Florida to live with his father. Lamar was exposed to the world of performing arts at a young age, through his mother who studied theater. Her passion for acting influenced Lamar to step out on stage and perform alongside her in a few productions and then later in local talent shows.
In his teens Lamar developed a devoted relationship withJesus and a love for music. He joined his high school marching band, choir, dance and drama team. During this time Lamar began to explore different genres of music and was introduced to christian hip hop artists Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashii, KB and Andy Mineo. His father and uncle instilled the structure and discipline he needed to remain focused on his academics, extracurricular commitments and most importantly his relationship with God.
In 2011 Lamar accepted a full academic scholarship and a partial band scholarship to Bethune Cookman University where he received a Bachelors in Music Sound Recording Engineering. While in college Lamar released his first project called “On Fire”an album that kick started his music career.
In 2014 Lamar met his future wife at their church’s young adult bible study group.
