About this concert
Known simply as “The Voice” in his home country of South Africa, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and poet Vusi Mahlasela and his band will perform “Township” – an uplifting special tribute to the music of Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Dorothy Masuka, and Brenda Fassie – and celebrating the 100th birthday of global peacemaker Nelson Mandela and nearly 25 years of freedom from apartheid.

Vusi Mahlasela Biography
South African Singer Vusi Mahlasela is known as "the Voice" and hails from the township of Mamelodi. He has been featured in the South African music documentary "Amandla!" and has lent his vocal skills to the soundtrack of the Academy Award winning South African Film "Tsotsi".
