Nefarious! Biography
Nefarious! (born June 18, 1991 in California) is a Bay Area-based sound engineer and instrumental hip-hop producer. Starting out as a rapper under the same name, Nef began making beats initially to record on himself. He lost interest in rapping completely and pursued beat making full time after drawing influences from producers such as Madlib, Nujabes, and J Dilla whose sample-based instrumental music help defined the genre.
At age 18, Nefarious! founded The Soul Dojo as a lifestyle brand and premier provider of high quality music content. He continues to release music on The Soul Dojo imprint produced by himself and various artists worldwide.
Nefarious! attends Ex’pression College’s bachelors program for sound design where he recevied certifications in both Logic and Pro Tools. He primarily uses Reason to create his music and Pro Tools to record and mix.
