About this concert
Fredo Viola, Luis Mojica & The Dustbowl Faeries share the stage together and perform new material from their upcoming solo albums in one special show that weaves together their dynamic vocals, compositions, and confessional stories of tragedy, beauty, and embracing love. They are joined by Elizabeth Clark (harp/vocals), Peter Wetzler (keys), Evan Benzinger (drums), Peter Dougan (guitar), Caelan Manning (saxophone), Chris Anderson & Al Romao (percussion). Luis Mojica is a pianist & vocalist who started developing his unique musical style in the crowded apartments and crumbling theaters of NYC's East Village. Six years ago he settled in the mountains of Woodstock where he is renowned for his holistic healing work, as well as his musical compositions. His unique style of live looped beat boxing and rich vocal harmonies caught the attention of Melora Creager, founder of the cult-famous cello band Rasputina, which led him on two US tours where he created his own fan base and released his first solo album titled Wholesome in July of 2016. The record features Creager on cello & Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls) on drums. His current record, How A Stranger Is Made, releases in the Spring of 2019 and features production from Mercury Prize Winning producers David Baron & Simone Felice (Lumineers, Bat For Lashes), as well as Grammy Award Winning producer Justin Guip (Levon Helm). Fredo Viola is known internationally for his poignantly emotional vocal compositions and innovative video works. With a mixture of electronic and classical orchestration, his debut record “The Turn” was named #2 album of the year by Les Inrockuptiples and #4 by Le Monde. He performed on popular French television shows Taratata and One Shot Not and was nominated for a Prix Constantin. Fredo’s music has appeared in several films and television shows, including The O.C., CSI: Miami, Demme’s Manchurian Candidate, A Brilliant Young Mind and The Education of Charlie Banks. His award-winning videos have been exhibited in festivals around the world, including the Clermont-Ferrand Festival, where he was also invited to judge the experimental category. He had a program of his works featured in Italy’s Corto in Bra Festival and The Periferias Festival in Huesca, Spain. Fredo will be premiering songs from his upcoming 3rd album. Luis Mojica Biography

Luis Mojica is a pianist & vocalist who started developing his unique musical style in the crowded apartments and crumbling theaters of NYC's East Village. In 2012 he moved upstate to the mountains of the Hudson Valley where he's become renowned for his holistic healing work, as well as his musical compositions.

He released his first studio album, Wholesome, in August 2016 after touring for 2 years with the avant-garde cello band Rasputina. The album featured his unique style of live looped beat boxing and rich vocal harmonies. The limited pressing of Wholesome sold out during the first year of its release and is only available digitally.

His songs are piano-based and blend his 3+ octave vocal range to create choir-like textures, as well as unusual character voices and harmonies that explore androgyny, spirituality, and unorthodox male identity.

His upcoming record, How A Stranger Is Made, is a beautiful tapestry of piano-driven songs that express, quite intimately, Luis' healing journey as a two-spirited man through shamanism, sex, pain, & ecstatic joy. It features production from Mercury Prize Winning producers David Baron & Simone Felice (Lumineers & Bat For Lashes), as well as Grammy Award Winning producer Justin Guip (Levon Helm).

It is set to release on October 4th, 2019.
