Jackie Minton Biography
Singer-songwriter Jackie Minton traverses the gap between the sacred and the secular, daring us to question if there was ever any distance between the two. Inspired by a long line of storytellers, her voice is evocative of Joni Mitchell and Ingrid Michaelson, while remaining all her own.
Born in Arlington, Texas, Jackie was instilled with an appreciation for the arts from a young age. After picking up guitar and piano, she quickly took to writing and performing anywhere and for anyone. In 2016 her debut EP Searching for Now gained the affection of listeners from around the globe. Five years of travel and studies fueled the artist’s growth, landing her in Nashville, Tennessee. She went on to crowdfund over $19k in support of her full length album Earnest Voice released in 2021. Upon hearing this project, international artist Dermot Kennedy selected Minton to open for his US tour, breaking her into the national floor.
Minton’s forthcoming EP Genesis takes on new territory sonically and lyrically. Inspired by her experiences, she explores themes of love and loss written into the human story. Unafraid to face the darkness of her own, Minton shines a light on the journey to self-knowledge. A departure from her acoustic roots, Genesis is true to her lyrical depth. The EP reveals a new layer of the songstress’ artistry and released in 2023.
