About this concert
Willa Mamet + Paul Miller annnnnd Dayna Kurtz are so excited to bring you our heart and our music as part of the inaugural year of the new Park Theater. Willa Mamet + Paul Miller: two voices and a guitar (and at the Park, grand piano keys) like you're at the kitchen table with us. Folk, country, Americana, and grassy soul. “...fine music masterfully played and sung.” - Rob Resnik, Vermont Public Radio "One of the best homegrown folk-acoustic acts to grace any stage." "Mamet’s voice is one of the best around. Her sound is smoky, sensual, folksy, emotive and controlled." - Art Edelstein, VT Times Argus "Mamet's original music warms, stirs, and heals the soul." - Deb Murov, Envision Design LISTEN: http://kitchentablemusic.bandcamp.com WATCH: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYcP6LtSWZcqBS0w4I6a9FA?view_as=subscriber OFFICIAL: www.kitchen-table-music.com Dayna Kurtz sings to make you want to weep and live. She's toured and opened for the likes of Elvis Costello, Richard Thompson, Mavis Staples, Rufus Wainwright, B.B. King, Dr. John, Richie Havens, Keren Ann, Chris Whitley, and the Blind Boys of Alabama. “When Kurtz sings, one of two things typically happens. Either she lets out a deep, husky croon that seems to bubble up from her toes, or she unleashes a full-throttle roar that’s more inviting than imposing….” James Reed, Boston Globe http://daynakurtz.com All-ages Wheelchair accessible ABOUT THE PARK: The Park Theatre opened on December 23, 1911 as the first movie theater in Glens Falls where the town gathered to watch silent films and vaudeville shows. The theatre closed in 1935 and the Glens Falls Post Co., publishers of The Post-Star, purchased the theater building in 1937 and converted it to a printing plant. Dr. Harold Kirkpatrick, a local plastic surgeon, bought the building in 1984 and worked on improving it with hopes of using it as a performing arts center. He rented the space out for occasional concerts and Jerry Aratare operated a movie theater there for a short time in 2010. In July 2014, local developer Elizabeth Miller (president of Miller Mechanical) purchased the property from the Kirkpatrick family. With the help of AJA Architecture and Planning and Cifone Construction Co., The Park Theater has been transformed into a state of the art performing space

Willa Mamet & Paul Miller Biography

Two voices and a guitar, like you're at the kitchen table with us.

Folk, country, Americana, and grassy soul.

The kitchen table duo have sung together - at tables and counters around Woodbury - for nearly twenty years.  Paul is a veteran of the Vermont music scene.  Willa daylights as a bodyworker, but loves singing with Paul over most things.  Together we make music that makes you feel like you’re right at home.
