LIZ Biography
An ‘underground pop princess’ previously named The First Lady of Mad Decent, Diplo’s sprawling EDM empire – smart and stylish LIZ offers just as much pulse as pomp in her riveting brand of joyful dance-music — mixing future-kitsch + R&B with ’90s/00s influences in an inspiring sense of can-do artistry that fuses this funky girl next door into pop’s newest come-as-you-are culture icon. Her penchant for sonic innovation, visual experimentation and the creation of her unique brand of nostalgia indebted bubblegum pop has led to a wide range of support from the likes of The Guardian (One To Watch), Noisey, The FADER, Pitchfork, i-D, Stereogum, SPIN, Billboard, PAPER, Line of Best Fit, Clash, MTV and many more.
Fresh off a plethora of critically acclaimed free releases (featuring collaborations with the likes of Lido, Ryan Hemsworth, Mr. Carmack, Branchez, and Vic Mensa) including her “Cross Your Heart” mixtape (the audio component to an editorial project with Nicola Formichetti), LIZ has returned to the limelight recently as an independent artist with some of her best music yet. Her first commercially released full length album, 'Planet Y2K’ dropped November 15th, which includes tracks with top pop collaborators such as Jesse Saint John, Robokid, Dylan Brady, Kim Petras, and Slayyyter. Features with SOPHIE and Sonikku are also forthcoming.
Stay tuned for more Y2K inspired glossy bubblegum pop from LIZ.
