About this concert
"This is exciting stuff. It has country-blues weaving through the melody, joy and pain riding their rustic tonsils and these young people have brought the truth in authentic folk music back from the dead." - No Depression Having charmed audiences from Ireland to California on the wings of their debut album songwriting duo The Lark and the Loon have a new album releasing this Fall. Entitled "Homestead Hands" it's a collection of songs inspired by stories of their ancestors who settled the wild western prairie and the northern Mississippi River. The songs fuse with concepts the two have experienced near their remote Ozark home and their life as musicians on the road. These songs will meet their catalog of music on stage in a mix of music inspired by prewar blues, early jazz, Irish music, and good old fashioned folk music. Heralded for their duets, harmonies, and musicianship the two will be bringing their signature array of accordion, banjos, guitars, shotgun shell turned stompbox and washboard with them straight off their Arkansas porch. www.thelarkandtheloon.com

The Lark and the Loon Biography
The Lark and the Loon are a husband and wife songwriting duo. Roots music by simple definition their writing and song choices traverse the Americana idea in what they call an exploration of the etymology of American music. Sea shanties, Irish dance tunes, Delta and Piedmont blues, jazz, and country all weave together under the calm direction of their showmanship and love of wordplay. Their debut album "Songbirds and Fog" was the highest charted self-released album on the Folk DJ charts the month of its release and has been gaining steady fanfare from the listeners reached by this 74 minute 19 track catalog of an album. Tailored to their environment they deliver performances full of humor, insight, and history. In 2014 they moved to a semi-remote location in the Ozark mountains to better position themselves for traveling the country. Since then they've played in over 40 states from coast to coast and were named a 2018 NAMM Showcase Artist following their successful Fall tour of Ireland in late 2017. When at home they write, work the rocky soil, and hike the natural beauty of the area soaking in the peace and quiet before their next venture. The Fall of 2018 sees them focused on releasing their second album "Homestead Hands" about life on the prairie, road, and Ozark hills.
