Music As Medicine's Open Road Tour featuring Diane Patterson and Lydia Violet will make its Davis stop in the home of Kitty Jo Poland, offering an evening concert filled with music meant to inspire resiliency in the spirit and a fire in the heart. Our concert will feature folk goddess Diane Patterson! Patterson sings the world awake with strong voice, rocking guitar, sweet ukulele, and revolutionary lyrics.Her sincere spirit and wild heart joyfully plant seeds of love and light in every listener. Currently Diane is touring her newest record, Open Road! This is her 5th independent solo album, produced by gold record-maker Mike Napolitano and featuring Ani DiFranco, recorded in New Orleans. The evening will also feature the roots music sounds of Lydia Violet, an accomplished Iranian-American multi-instrumentalist weaving together Southern blues, American roots, and Iranian folk music traditions. With her live band she combines fiddle, banjo, and luscious 3-part harmonies to offer a soul-folk revival experience creating a new wave of protest music. Her weaving of West African percussion, clawhammer banjo, and gospel-inspired vocal parts take her audiences deep into the cave of roots music wonders.
