About this concert
YellowTieGuy vocalist and guitarist, Daniel Warren Hill, returns to the docks at Lighthouse Restaurant and Dock Bar for a Sunday afternoon of solo acoustical adventures featuring songs by the band, and songs that have inspired him as a songwwriter and performer over the years. About YELLOW TIE GUY yellowtieguy.com YellowTieGuy is an Alternative Rock Band performing regularly in the greater metropolitan Washington DC area and along the east coast. With members around the Washington DC beltway including Jamie Rasmussen (Bass), Cole Deiner (Drums), and Jason McKinney (Guitar). Eric Sanford (formerly of Dreamscapes Project) is often featured on percussion. Unfortunately it is most likely Jason and Eric will not be present for this adventure. YellowTieGuy is presently scheduled in August to record a demo for a project to be produced by Jimi Haha (Jimmy's Chicken Shack, Jarflys). About LIGHTHOUSE RESTAURANT AND DOCK BAR: lighthouserestaurantanddockbar.com Rusty and Nick were raised in Calvert County, living in Huntingtown. They were active in sports…Rusty in football and wrestling… Nick in football and baseball. Their father Jack who loved to cook, encouraged them to help out in the kitchen. They both worked in local restaurants during high school and Rusty soon discovered he loved creating delicious entrees. When they graduated, Rusty continued to pursue a cooking career and Nick attended Frostburg State University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. In 1998, the Shriver Family was offered an opportunity to purchase the business at Clarke’s Landing Restaurant. For sixteen very successful years, Rusty ran the kitchen and Nick managed the Front of the House. Rusty and Nick both married St. Mary’s County girls; Rusty married Krista Shaffer, Nick married JoHanna Ramos. Rusty has a 6 year old son, Evan, and Nick has two daughters, 5 year old Ava and 2 year old Zoe. In early 2012, with the owner of the building being unwilling to negotiate a new lease, they began to look for another location. In 2013, Rusty and Nick purchased the ground where the Lighthouse Inn had been located and construction began on the new LIGHTHOUSE RESTAURANT & DOCK BAR, which opened on February 24th, 2014.

yellowtieguy Biography

Singer/Songwriter. Daniel Warren Hill began performing solo acoustic shows while still in his teens under the alias YellowTieGuy because time and again, his nick name seemed to have as much of a long-lasting impression as the music fans began gravitating towards. As time went on and the project started attracting talented performers, YellowTieGuy was already starting to establish a credible name throughout the region and new members opted to continue performing under the YellowTieGuy moniker.

In January of 2011, Daniel joined forces with bassist Mary Celeste, guitarist Jason McKinney and drummer/producer Darren Guzzone for a mere 6 weeks of practice before recording in the Alchemical Records studio in Waldorf, MD.Over the course of the next year, Daniel and Darren would mix and master the project in house, while being joined by drummer Ralf Madrigal for a rigorous performing schedule.

In May of 2012, YellowTieGuy released their debut album "Joy in the Mourning" featuring artwork by painter and graphic designer Joseph Wimberly, in coordination with 98 Rock's Noise in the Basement program hosted by Matt Davis.

Since the release of the album, YTG has had the pleasure of being played on college radio, rock alternative radio, and freeform internet radio stations. YellowTieGuy has had the honor of performing with national acts in Cleveland, Boston, and all around the DC/MD/VA area.

In November 2016, YellowTieGuy released Play On Words which contained a more up-beat rock and roll vibe in comparison to the more melancholy tone of the previous record. Ralf Madrigal's drumming talents were able to salvaged for just one track after losing the bulk of the original recordings to unfortunate simultaneous technical errors to recording computers and back up hard drives. Additional drumming duties for the recording were undertaken by Robot Jurassic guitarist and vocalist Steve Syzbowski, and former Crooked Crow drummer Kyle Jackson. Mary Celeste, Chubbs (Drummer for Robot Jurassic), and Jamie Rasmussen (former Crooked Crow bassist) would all contribute bass parts to Play On Words. Jamie would continue to be YellowTieGuy's full-time bassist. Jason McKinney performed a number of distinct guitar parts and solos for the recording, and Darren Guzzone would return to this project to engineer the recording process and provide amazing mixes and insight on the overall band sound. The project was mastered by Drew Mazurek. Artwork for the record was designed by SCAD alumni Joan Cooke.

Play On Words features the singles "Anthem" and "First Move" for which music videos were made and released as a single with bonus tracks on April 17th, 2016 with artwork by Danielle Tarka of Chestnut Illustrations.

YellowTieGuy will have performed over a hundred dates along the east coast by the end of 2017 and looking to expand their performances even further in 2018 along with some new music currently in production with a release date to be announced. They continue to grow a national and international fan base and you can expect YellowTieGuy to stand the test of time for years to come.
