Whiskey Dregs Biography
Described as "A Freight Train of Celtic sound", Tampa area's Whiskey Dregs blends traditional Irish songs with rock, punk, pop and whatever other styles they feel like into a distinct sound that gets your feet stomping and your head banging.
Former 3 Pint Harmony and Ugly Jameson's fiddle player Christer Saarikko and drummer Ken Walker banded (literally) together with former Fightin' Malone's guitar player K. Paul Boyev and bass player Don Butler form a new, more aggressive and more musical band. With the addition of new comer Clayton Collard, Whiskey Dregs follows in the footsteps of bands like Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphy's, The Pogues, Seven Nations and Enter the Haggis.
Most known for their live shows, audiences experience a blending of traditional Celtic and rock and roll, shredded bow hair, splashing water, dirty toasts, crunching guitar, trash can drums and of course, men in kilts.
Whiskey Dregs members are known throughout the Celtic festival circuit and have shared stages with some of Celtic rock's most notable bands including Albannach, Rathkeltair, Enter The Haggis, Seven Nations, The Fighting Jamesons, Off Kilter and The Red Hot Chili Pipers. Additional they have opened for many mainstream acts including Less Than Jake, Not Tonight Josephine, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Dick Dale.
