Lorna Dea Biography

Lorna Dea is back ... With a brand new EP 'Good Thing' that stormed into the iTunes RnB/Soul Album Chart back in November 2019.

The 'Good Thing' EP shot to Number 4, which is Lorna's highest ever chart position to date.

'I couldn't believe my eyes, as my music sat there at Number 4 amongst artists who's music I admire so much'

Dea is a well known BBC introducing artist from the Midlands with a real passion for old Soul and Motown, her music has been described as having a “Contemporary mix of steady pop beats with subtle undertones of an organic Motown vibe.”

The New EP is already receiving great support from local radio and BBC Introducing East Midlands marking Lorna as an 'Artist to Watch' for 2020.

'A Talented Lady is Lorna Dea and it's great to have some new musis from her in 2020' - Dean Jackson, BBC Introducing East Midlands

After working so hard in the studio with Multi Platinum Selling Writer and Producer Fred Cox; whose credits to date are Rag N Bone Man, Anne-Marie, Paloma Faith (to name but a few), Lorna couldn't be happier with how this EP is being received.

Local and National BBC introducing programmes have been pivotal in Lorna's music reaching a wider audience and have been supporting her musical journey since 2014. Lorna’s debut EP “Little Spark” attracted the attention of National BBC Introducing, where Lorna’s music was played on all of 40 of the Local BBC Radio stations.

"We Love the sound you make" - Mark Forrest (The Mark Forrest Show) BBC Introducing

Lorna's second EP 'Comfort Zone' was released in February 2018 and charted at number 5 and well received by BBC radio. Each track sequentially was made 'Track of the Week' for BBC radio Leicester.

Following the success of her 'Comfort Zone' EP Lorna was delighted to accept the opportunity to support Paloma Faith during her Architect Tour in March 2018 at the O2 Arena in London and following this supported Tom Robinson on his tour in May 2018.

"She is doing just brilliantly, I think it's Fabulous" - Ben Jackson BBC Radio Leicester

Lorna definitely has the bug for performing live and works hard to bring something special to every live show. Working with a live band to really bring Dea's sound to life, they are making a name for themselves with regular appearances in major cities and reputable venues, like The Bedford, London and The Jam House, Birmingham.

"Wow what a vocal, you have a fantastic voice" - Ben Drummond - Promoter for The JamHouse, Birmingham

Lorna has already received great reviews in renowned international music articles and blogs and has even featured on notorious music blog 'Hype Machine'

"You can hear the soul influences in this very new piece. In fact I caught myself putting it on repeat" - FATEA Magazine

"A Pop performer who brings a sometimes suprisingly raw edge to an otherwise divinely smooth vocal" - The Revue

Lorna is embarking on a 2020 Collaboration project called 'Lorna Dea & Friends' working with artist/producers/songwriters all with a connection to the midlands area, to not only promote the incredible musicality this region has to offer but to connect with other musicians in the area by creating something unique.
