RoMi Cage Biography
ROMI CAGE one name covering two people: writers duo Romy (Ro) and Michaël (Mi) Coomans (Cage). Indeed, they share the same last name. This single artists name represents the way in which they feel as one with each other, their passion for music and the world around them.
RoMi Cage brings ‘philosoftpop’ inspired by artists like John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac en Sarah Bareilles. Romy’s angelic voice evokes emotions of any kind. Their music covers themes like hope, faith and love.
Their debut album was produced in 2015 by 8 times Grammy award winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (Alanis Morissette, Jason Mraz, U2) in Sunset Sound Studio’s, Los Angeles. They worked with top of the bill musicians as Sean Hurley (bassplayer John Mayer) and Victor Indrizzo (drummer Alanis Morissette). This unique chance to record their debut album in Los Angeles with pro Joe Chiccarelli was financially (and mentally) supported by over 350 sponsors from all over the world.
Before having released even one single, RoMi Cage performed as a support act for Dutch famous band Bløf and played live on the first episode of national radio Veronica’s show “Countdown Café”.
RoMi Cage performed in and outside the Netherlands (Switzerland, London, California, Denmark, Germany). Highlights were: their album release in Paradiso, Amsterdam, performing during an International Film Festival and having the documentary made about their lives broadcasted at the same festival and touring with British hit artist Paul Carrack as his opening act during his tour in the Netherlands.
Recently RoMi Cage recorded a brand new EP which will be released in January 2018. Their single ‘Hope Rises Like Dust’ has been released on November 23 and can be found on Itunes, Spotify, Google play etc.
