Scott Brockett Biography
“I’ve always wanted to be more than just ordinary”, says Scott Brockett, pop/rock artist out of Portland, Oregon. “My idea even as little kid was and continues to be to get out on the road and show people what I can do”.
And that is just what Scott intends to do as he begins to take on more solo performance opportunities. With a style that is raw like pop/rock and smooth like soul, Scott Brockett has the makings of creating something that can only be defined as classic.
Scott also continues to be involved in local Portland band Holding Out, which was first started by Scott and fellow musician Kelly Bechtell in 2003. However, his career prospects have recently evolved to also include solo performances. Scott’s songs from Holding Out’s latest CD, ‘Playing in the Rain,’ such as ‘Beauty Queen’ and ‘Rescue You,’ really feature the power and soul of his voice and he is looking forward to carrying this into his new solo material.
Scott counts artists such as Marc Broussard, Rob Thomas, John Mayer, and Jonny Lang as his influences to create a style that blends soul vocals with pop hooks, rock riffs and heartfelt lyrics.
