Third time seeing The Damn Truth and they put on a great show again. Clearly a band that enjoy performing live and have a great rapport with the crowd. The venue however is not so good, the stage is a foot above the audience level making it more difficult for us shorter people to see the band and there is a support pillar right in the middle and front of the stage. Hope on the next tour they return to The Brudnell.

Will definitely be mixed opinions on this particular one, the weather delayed all 3 bands, with hedpe making it first and actually acknowledged the fans, dp and spineshank being later. Ryan McCombs was sozzled by the start of dp set but still did a good show(if short) , hedpe was spot on full set and the energy you expect from Jared. Spineshank were brilliant for the half set they did-due to the fact they didn't come on until 3am.johnny Santos had more energy and enthusiasm than you would expect at that time after the day they had had. The venue could possibly have been a little more forthcoming with info for the crowd, but credit to all involved for getting it going anyway. In the circumstances it was good, with drowning pool being the most disappointing, but still good.

I enjoyed it very much - a remarkable performance from all three in the band. That music isn’t easy to learn and play, I’m sure! Their obvious pleasure and the fun they were having as they performed added to the show. The young girl who played the support slot was also very good. And the main man looking even Geddier than the genuine article was great! I’ve mentioned it to some friends who now intend to catch them in Blackpool in January. I’ve seen the ‘real’ Rush three times over the years and, probably because I could get so close to the band, this was very nearly as good - honest! Thank you!

For me, Bad Touch were the stand-out act at a great little festival in this cool venue last night, and there was some seriously stiff competition! Bad Touch always look like they are having a good time on stage, and who doesn't want a piece of that? An Alanis Morrissette cover (One Hand In My Pocket) was an unexpected delight, even when singer Stevie looked like he wasn't expecting it either. George (The Beast from the East) behind the drums kept him right and normal service was quickly resumed. A high point was a short improv piece where we got to hear the gorgeous rounded tone lead guitarist Rob coaxes from his Strat when left to his own devices for a while - dark chocolate for the soul! Crowd-pleasing tunes like 25 Miles, Strut and the set closing Ninety-nine per cent are becoming classics in their own right. I drove nearly as far as they did to be at this show and it was worth every mile. Purveyors of great melodic rock and roll - miss them at your peril!
