Missing Persons Brought the '80s Back to Life in DTLA – July 19, 2025 Missing Persons absolutely killed it at Pershing Square this weekend. They opened with “Mental Hopscotch,” and from the first beat, the crowd was on its feet, dancing like it was 1982 all over again. Dale Bozzio sounded amazing—her voice still has that sharp, totally unique tone that made her a new wave icon back in the MTV days. They played all the hits: “Destination Unknown,” “Words,” “Walking in L.A.,” and “Ain’t None of Your Business,” plus a killer version of The Doors' “Hello, I Love You,” which they originally covered on their 1984 album Rhyme & Reason. The whole set felt super tight and fun, and Dale had great energy throughout—she was clearly having a blast up there. The weather was perfect—classic SoCal sunshine—and the downtown L.A. backdrop made it feel even more surreal, especially when they launched into “Walking in L.A.” People were singing along, dancing, and just vibing hard. You could feel the love for the band in the air—tons of old-school fans (like me!) and even some younger folks who were clearly discovering the magic for the first time. It wasn’t just a concert—it felt like stepping into a time machine. Pure new wave nostalgia with just enough edge to still feel totally relevant. Missing Persons still have it. And then some.

The event was awesome! The fact that there was free water when it was 85 degrees outside with no shade was incredible to me! Thank you for such a fun event💜

You can never go wrong with making a decision to go to an O-Show!! These 4 Talented, Gorgeous, Amazing guys put on a show like no other; they are Incredible Entertainers and sooo much fun to watch on stage. They come out swinging like it's the World Series, and it's Pure Entertainment from start to finish!! This was another Amazing show as Always!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️

Was advertised from 3-10. The acts didn't go on until like 7:30-8ish. Was hot with barely any shade or anything to do for those 4 hours while we waited. The bands did a good job, but should have been advertised doors at 6, show at 7. Or have more vendors/shade.

The show itself was AMAZING as always! But the planning of the event was horrible. Everything including the ticket said show started at 3:30 but it was really gates opened at 3:30 and the show started at 7pm. It was hot people were passing out because of the heat and no shade. Once it started it was great!

my guys! they were awesome. can't say the same for the rest of the bill (Flock of Seagulls...you should maybe consider rehearsing before playing a gig), but the Hatless were as solid and entertaining as ever. have a pretty rich history with them and will always love them : ). great job! and thank you... xo shaylie

Great show. Weather was good. Food and water was adequate. I liked the set. Sound was a little muffled at times. Espectially when he played acoustic. But overall, Dramarama was great and my main reason to go to Persian Square. DTLA was light traffic.

David is always awesome - only an hour but best when you get a full 3 or 4 hour set or longer
